As a Commis Chef at Corinthia Lisbon you will play a vital role in the preparation of exquisite dishes at our establishment. We need passionate professionals to create a modern and elegant experience for our guests.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparation of ingredients and execution of dishes, including setting up garnishes and food
  • Regular maintenance of the workstation, adhering to HACCP hygiene standards

Whilst working for the company there will be access to a wide variety of confidential information concerning the Company, guests and employees. 
It is vital that all such information remains confidential and must not be disclosed to anyone outside the Company, guests and employees, unless otherwise stated. 

Health & safety

  • Maintain a thorough awareness of and comply with all safe working practices as outlined in the Health and Safety at Work Act, as well as those specific to your place of employment. This includes knowledge of any potential hazards in your work environment

  • Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as provided or recommended by the Company; this is mandatory

  • Promptly report any defects or malfunctions in the building, plant, or equipment in accordance with the hotel’s established procedures

  • Immediately report any accidents involving staff, guests, or visitors, following the correct reporting protocols without delay

  • Attend all mandatory Fire, Health, and Safety training sessions and ensure full understanding of and compliance with all related procedures and regulations

As the hotel’s level of business varies considerably, there is a need for flexibility in attitude, approach and working hours.

Experience

Proven experience as a Commis Chef, preferably within a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.

Skills & knowledge

  • Knowledge of culinary techniques, including food preparation, plating and banquet service
  • Strong attention to detail  with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of culinary excellence
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Familiarity with HACCP standards and a demonstrated commitment to food safety and hygiene
