Corinthia Budapest is seeking a Senior Meetings & Events Operations Manager to oversee the seamless delivery of conferences, meetings, exhibitions and social events across our iconic venues. Key responsabilities:
  • Encourages the team to propose innovative ideas that keep the property competitive

  • Leads the team in analysing competitor products, pricing, and services, ensuring regular, well-documented market intelligence updates.

  • Reviews upcoming events and proactively identifies potential challenges or conflicts.

  • Oversees the Event Planning team and their output, including proposals, function sheets and floorplans.

  • Identifies every opportunity to generate incremental revenue while delivering outstanding guest service

  • Builds strong relationships with external vendors, negotiating pricing and service agreements to enhance the event experience and expand revenue opportunities

  • Consults with clients to determine objectives and requirements for meetings, conferences and events

  • Oversees and coordinates all accommodation and event requirements (conference services, F&B, technical needs, offsite catering) for contracted MICE and local events, including preliminary reconciliations and on-site support

  • Monitors and controls the handover of contracted MICE and local groups from the Sales team, in alignment with the handover checklist

  • Participates in F&B-Sales handover meetings, ensuring all relevant group details are communicated clearly, with emphasis on deviations from standard procedures.

  • Supervises contracted event details in Opera after handover, including conference spaces, DDR, room rentals and F&B requirements

  • Ensures consistent communication with clients regarding room blocks, including current and projected pickup, cancellation terms, release dates, and guaranteed numbers

  • Ensures that correct payment methods are communicated to all concerned departments

  • Oversees and monitors accommodation-related requirements such as room types, complimentary services, upgrades, amenities, porterage, early arrivals, late check-outs, and Opera administration

  • Supervises preparation of menu cards, buffet cards, name cards and signage (including digital signage), ensuring accuracy and incorporating last-minute guest requests when feasible

  • Contributes to the forecasting process for MICE and local banqueting revenue

  • Ensures all conference deliveries are coordinated to standard and in full compliance with contractual agreements

  • Oversees post-event follow-up, including billing, satisfaction surveys and future business inquiries

  • Coordinates VIP arrivals, welcomes and support, ensuring adherence to brand standards and guest satisfaction

  • Cultivates effective working relationships with operational departments and the hotel’s official technical supplier

  • Monitors and administers expected MICE and local F&B revenue on a weekly basis

  • Continuously trains and motivates the team to upsell F&B products and services beyond contracted items to maximise revenue

  • Trains and oversees the team in conducting creative, client-focused site inspections

  • Supports the team and Finance department in following up on delayed deposit payments, escalating to hotel management when payments remain outstanding three days before arrival

  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of hotel products, including the Banquet Kit, Sales and F&B promotions, loyalty programme and Spa services and proactively recommends these to clients

  • Supports C&E Sales Executives in negotiation, forecasting, and problem-solving activities

  • Oversees preparation and distribution of MICE and Local Function Sheets, ensuring completion by the Wednesday prior to group arrival

  • Ensures all internal events follow correct procedures, including approved request forms, Opera administration, and accurate function sheets

  • Leads the organisation and facilitation of pre-conference meetings; attends those for VIP events and for MICE groups exceeding 300 room nights

  • Ensures the team monitors all changes during group stays, communicates updates promptly to relevant departments and maintains accurate records in Opera, while monitoring guest satisfaction

  • Supports the C&E operations team in billing processes (Micros)

  • Ensures full knowledge and adherence to events @ corinthia standards

  • Represents the hotel at external meetings and events

  • Demonstrates and promotes Corinthia Budapest values - Understanding, Precision, Authenticity, and Passion through attitude and performance.

  • Manages weekly rosters and overtime for C&E Sales Executives and the Event Assistant

  • Assists in Banquet Kit menu planning and pricing

  • Identifies gaps between events and develops upselling opportunities

  • Measures performance of the C&E Sales team

  • Identifies need periods and implements targeted sales activity to secure new or ad hoc business, reducing the impact of low-demand periods

  • Supports the development and promotion of banquet and event packages to attract conference business and encourage repeat bookings

  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Manager

The ideal candidate: 
  • At least 2 years’ hospitality experience in the Meeting & Events field preferably in a 5-star conference hotel
  • College/University degree in relevant field
  • Proficient command of English and Hungarian
  • Initiative and customer service oriented
  • Professional self & corporate representation
  • Good organization, planning and time management skills
