Sommelier

Octavian Gruianu

With over 25 years’ experience on the global hospitality stage, Octavian Gruianu brings passion, precision and a deep sense of history to every glass poured at Corinthia Bucharest. From his formative years in Bucharest to a decade aboard Cunard’s legendary Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth, it was during this time that his love for wine truly flourished, culminating in a transformative ten-year tenure as sommelier on these world-class liners.

Now at the helm of Corinthia’s wine programme, he curates a cellar of more than 380 labels, spanning prestigious global regions and exceptional Romanian vineyards. His philosophy is simple yet profound: every bottle tells the story of its land, its time and the craftsmanship behind it. Whether introducing guests to rare vintages or uncovering hidden local treasures, Octavian’s mission is to craft soulful dining experiences through the art of wine.
