On 28th March 2018,, Air Malta will inaugurate two direct flights each week between St Petersburg and Malta.
The national airline of the Maltese islands will fly the 4hrs 5 mins-long flight every Wednesday and Saturday.
It means that, for the first time, Corinthia Hotels in St Petersburg and Malta will have a direct link between them on Air Malta.
The flights will run for the summer season only – until October 20th – to take advantage of the increasing demand for holidaymakers in the chilly northwest of Russia to travel to this sun-drenched Southern Mediterranean island.
Russian visitors to Malta have been increasing year on year, up to 23,000 last year from 16,400 in 2016.
And there is even more reason for holidaymakers to visit this year as Malta’s capital Valletta is celebrating being named European Capital of Culture, with a year-long calendar of events. It will be home from home for St Petersburg residents as their city is known as the Cultural Capital of Russia.
In Malta, Russian holiday makers have two Corinthia hotels to choose between. The resort hotel of Corinthia St George’s Bay is located in St Julian’s near the buzzy nightlife area of Paceville. With panoramic views of the Mediterranean, it boasts a five-pool complex, the Apollo Day Spa, watersports centre, ten restaurants including al fresco eateries and poolside dining.
The Corinthia Palace Hotel is located in the heart of the island, in San Anton, inbetween the island’s capital Valletta and the former capital Mdina. Set in tranquil, tropical gardens it has a chilled vibe, with indoor and outdoor pools, revitalising treatments in the Athenaeum Spa, and top-class restaurants including Asian-fusion dishes in Rickshaw and a century-old restored villa as its main dining venue.
