Corinthia Hotel Budapest, the grand dame hotel in the city, has opened an art gallery on the ground floor. The Gallery Grand Boulevard will showcase Hungarian and regional artists, on a rotating basis.
Currently, the Gallery is staging an exhibition of fashion designer and graphic artist Zita Borszeki’s work. From 4th August it is the turn of Uzbek-born abstract artist Valera Iskhakov and from 1st September works from Hungarian painter Andrelli Andrelli will be on show (all pictured above).
From 6th October the art of Transylvanian painter Tibor Fazakas-Kosta will be exhibited and from 10th November the gallery will be turned over to Arpad Muller, the Hungarian painter and graphic artist.
The exhibitions in the Gallery are curated by the Artel Galeria in Budapest which specialises in contemporary Hungarian art.
The Gallery replaces the space used for a souvenir shop in the hotel.
