As you would expect for a five-star luxury hotel, the lavender that finds its way onto guests’ pillows each night at turndown and delivered with guests’ laundry, has the best possible provenance. It is grown exclusively for the hotel at Chateau de la Gabelle Provence.
The chateau owners grow lavender for Corinthia in a specific area, at the highest altitude, 1,300ft above sea level on the slopes of Mt Ventoux.
In picturesque Provence the aromatic herb is then packed into organza bags and they find their way to the centre of London and their final destination, the Corinthia Hotel London in Whitehall.
Some 450 years of lavender-growing experience lies behind Chateau de la Gabelle Provence. It is located in one of the finest lavender-growing regions in the world. The lavender grown here bears the Bureau Veritas certification of pure organic and ranks among the finest in the world.
“As a luxury hotel, we take the utmost care where we source every guest-facing product and service,” says the hotel’s Managing Director Thomas Kochs. “Lavender has particularly beneficial properties in helping guests relax and enjoy better quality sleep so it is the perfect turndown amenity.”
