At Corinthia Hotels, we believe that support from your family and community plays an integral role in enhancing the quality of life and in making personal successes possible. In order to help develop this sense of community, we focus on our three main points of action:
• Embracing our Corinthia Family;
• Consolidating Communities;
• Granting Wishes, Fulfilling Dreams.
1. EMBRACING OUR CORINTHIA FAMILY
The Pisani family’s dream – to perfect the quality of care we offer our guests – would be a hollow ambition if it were not for our amazing team members. We therefore endeavour to make their experience of working with us as comfortable and rewarding as possible. We ensure that their needs are met, and that their efforts and loyalty to Corinthia are acknowledged.
Illustratively, the Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay organises a week in which all team members are encouraged to book an appointment with a dentist and masseur, as a token of appreciation for all the hard work and long hours dedicated. Through awareness, information and safety sessions, we ensure our team members feel cared for. Even after their retirement, the Corinthia Social Club in Malta cares for the welfare of former Corinthia employees by organising cultural and culinary events on their behalf throughout the year.
The Corinthia Social Club in Malta organises corporate team member events and related activities that benefit both our employees and the surrounding community. These activities include Employees of the Year recognition and Continuous Service Awards events in all destinations for long-serving Corinthia team members. The Club also operates a team members’ discount and preferred partners scheme and organises sporting and voluntary activities to raise funds for charitable causes and to inspire green initiatives. In doing so, our Corinthia community meets and melts into the surrounding one.
2. CONSOLIDATING COMMUNITIES
As a natural extension of our core family values, we endeavour to consolidate communities. Every big success grows from a small idea, and we at Corinthia Hotels have understood the value of community support since the Corinthia family, led by Alfred Pisani, opened its first restaurant operation in 1962. We therefore strive, through supporting local charities and investing in local industries by, for example, buying locally produced foodstuffs, to fully integrate the individual hotels into their surrounding communities. We additionally fully endorse the efforts of organisations like Caritas, who tackle social ills in society and set out to alleviate poverty and to promote human development and social justice.
We also appreciate national pride around and desire to preserve local heritage, and Corinthia therefore supports the Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti, a non-profit organisation that strives to raise awareness of Malta’s extensive heritage locally and internationally, through museums, exhibitions and publications. The organisation’s strength lies in its ability to bring together Malta’s hidden treasures and making them accessible to the public in lavish exhibitions. Through this organisation, Malta’s rich culture and heritage are not left forgotten.
3. GRANTING WISHES, FULFILLING DREAMS
At Corinthia Hotels, we recognise the importance of experiences, and the immense power of comfort and quality time with loved ones. Made possible by our guests’ kind donations and regular fund-raising activities organised by hotel team members, and in collaboration with the Belgium-based international charity Beyond the Moon, we have to-date enabled 13 seriously ill children to go on a memorable, cost-free and carefree vacation with their families. The charity recognised the Corinthia’s extraordinary support over the years on the 7th May 2013, by presenting us with a certificate of excellence award. With a similar aim, the Corinthia Hotel Budapest supports the Hungarian Csodalampa Wish-Fulfilling Foundation, which grants wishes to children suffering from life-threatening illnesses, including tumours, leukaemia, muscle dystrophy and chronic kidney and liver illnesses.
