Andrássy Avenue is the Hungarian Champs-Élysées and as such, is the most elegant street in Budapest. All along this wonderful thoroughfare, the city’s essence can truly be felt. Brimming with fabulous architecture, palaces, manicured parks, chic cafes and fabulous shops, the whole area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Aside from its heritage, Andrássy Avenue is a shoppers’ paradise with a wealth of designer labels holding their stores here including Louis Vuitton, Ermenegildo Zegna, Burberry, Gucci, and Roberto Cavalli.
The avenue can be divided into four distinct parts and makes a perfect destination for a pleasant stroll or a shopping trip – not to be missed.
1. Elizabeth Square to Oktogon – mainly commercial buildings, shops, Opera House, Liszt Ferenc Square
2. Oktogon to Kodály körönd – a widened part with residential and office buildings, House of Terror Museum
3. Kodály körönd to Bajza utca – an even wider part with residential villas
4. Bajza utca to Heroes' Square – villas and palaces with gardens, some are used as embassies
