House of Terror
Having survived two terror regimes, it was felt that the time had come for Hungary to erect a fitting memorial to the victims, and at the same time to present a picture of what life was like for Hungarians in those times. In December 2000 ˝The Public Foundation for the Research of Central and East European History and Society ˝ purchased the building with the aim of establishing a museum in order to present these two bloody periods of Hungarian history. Dr. Mária Schmidt is the Director-General of the House of Terror Museum, which was completed in February 2002.

Two small plazas flank the sides of Andrássy út, Liszt Ferenc Square which is in fact a lovely side street lined with restaurants, cafes and lots of green. In summer terraces, lovely drinks and good ambiance and all this 3 minutes from our hotel!

Jewish Heritage
Our hotel is only 15 minutes away from the  recently renovated Dohány Street Synagogue, the Jewish Museum, the Holocaust Cemetery,  the Raoul Wallenberg Memorial Park and the Tree of Life.

The capital’s most spectacular square can be found at the entrance to the City Park. Western Railway Station (Nyugati Pályaudvar, Nyugati pu.)
Its predecessor the Pest Station was built in 1846, when the first Hungarian railway line was opened between Pest and Vác. The Basilica
Saint Stephen's Basilica is the largest Roman Catholic church in Budapest, it has the second highest ecclesiastical status in Hungary.
An elevator takes up the visitors in the left tower, from where a magnificent panorama of the city can be enjoyed. Not only the streets and squares of downtown Pest, but also the Castle Hill, the Citadel and the other Buda hills are visible. In the right tower the largest bell of the country - weighs 9 tons - can be found.

The Gellert bath is famous because of the hotel… or was it the other way around? And the Szechenyi bath is simply amazing, beautiful and traditional. The ambience in the baths in Budapest is amazingly relaxing and recovering. After a hard working day or on the weekend a lot of people go to a bath in Budapest to recreate.
