Guests can swap views of the London Eye and River Thames for a day hunting game across the classic, country estate of Petworth, a 1 hour 15 minute drive from London.
The hunting days are the brainchild of Corinthia’s Executive Chef Garry Hollihead and his long-time friend Petworth Head Keeper David Whitby. Hollihead is a champion of British-sourced game and artisan foods.
Between the rough and ready world of hunting, shooting and fishing across the estate, a healthy breakfast, picnic lunch and afternoon tea are included in the day, prepared on the estate by Hollihead and are based on Paleo principles.
Non-hunting partners can also enjoy a day at Petworth House, which was given by the family to the National Trust in 1947. One part of the house is still inhabited by Lord and Lady Egremont, and there is the chance to meet them personally, if they are at home, giving guests a ‘Downton Abbey’ experience. Petworth House houses one of the finest and largest collections of Turner paintings in the country.
The Petworth estate was designed by renowned English landscape architect Lancelot “Capability” Brown in 1752.
One can also do a horse and cart tour of the estate and a look around of the plethora of local antique shops.
